About this statute

This article says the Order sets out how the Regulatory Council works and that the Council is responsible for organizing and supervising the environmental assessment profession. The Regulatory Council meeting is convened and chaired by the Chairperson, or by the Vice-Chairperson if the Chairperson is absent. Meeting invitations must be written, include the agenda items, and be sent to members at least 15 days before the meeting. The Regulatory Council may meet only if at least five members are present; decisions are made by consensus, or by absolute majority if consensus fails, and the chairperson breaks ties. The Regulatory Council may invite a resource person to its meeting, and the invited person may not vote or follow debates on other agenda items. The Regulatory Council must sign its meeting resolutions and minutes, send copies to the Minister in charge of environment within set deadlines, notify the environmental practitioners’ association for implementation, and monitor implementation.
