About this statute

Each ratifying Member must take immediate and effective measures to prohibit and eliminate the worst forms of child labour. This article defines “child” as any person under 18 years old. This article defines the worst forms of child labour and requires the competent authority to identify, review, and revise the types of work covered under paragraph 1(d). The types of work referred to in Article 3(d) must be determined by national regulations or the competent authority, after consulting the relevant employers’ and workers’ organizations and following international standards. This article must be periodically examined and revised when needed, in consultation with the concerned employers’ and workers’ organizations.
