Statute overview

About this statute

This article says the Convention applies to workers in listed types of undertakings and establishments, and allows the competent authority to exempt certain workers. Article 2 gives eligible persons a paid annual holiday after one year of continuous service, sets minimum leave lengths, and allows national rules to permit certain adjustments. People taking a holiday under Article 2 are entitled to receive the items that follow during the holiday period. Agreements to give up the right to paid annual leave, or to skip that leave, are void. National laws or regulations may allow a worker who does paid work during annual holiday to lose the right to holiday pay for that period.
