Statute overview

About this statute

This Order sets the rules for giving benefits to members of a long-term savings scheme. This article defines “administrator” as a public institution authorized to manage the long-term savings scheme and provide related administrative services. Members aged 55 or older may receive benefits based on their savings and related interest, depending on whether the amount is at least 4,000,000 RWF or below that threshold. Members who become permanently disabled or terminally ill may choose a lump-sum payment or installment payments, with a special lump-sum option for members aged 55 or older. A non-national member who permanently leaves Rwanda may withdraw the full balance of a long-term savings account as a lump-sum allowance, and must give the administrator all documents proving permanent emigration.
