About this statute

Contracting parties must adopt the Convention’s technical, administrative, and legislative measures and apply them within their territory. This article defines key terms used in the Convention and says the definitions are limited to this Convention’s application. This provision says the Convention does not change contracting parties’ rights and obligations under relevant international agreements. Contracting parties must set up or provide for an official national plant protection organization and share certain plant-protection information and descriptions. Each contracting party must arrange phyto-sanitary certification and use approved certificate forms and qualified officials.
