About this statute

This provision says the law governs the therapeutic, educational, and scientific use of organs and products of the human body. This article defines key terms used in the law. A person generally must consent before treatment, except in urgent cases where they cannot consent. This article forbids paying for or selling the human body or its products, and requires that body-related experimentation, organ/tissue removal or transplantation not be done for profit. Only authorized health institutions may remove or transplant organs and tissues, and the health minister’s authorization lasts five years and can be renewed.
