Statute overview

About this statute

This Order sets the rules for implementing weekly working hours in the private sector. Hours worked in the day, at night, on an official holiday, or on the weekend are treated the same and paid equally. An employee may work overtime only when the employer requests it and the work meets one of the listed reasons. Overtime is counted after 45 hours per week, and the employer must record overtime hours and days in a register or electronically; the employee must confirm the records. If work stops because of listed disruptions, salary is not reduced and missed hours may be made up later; the employer cannot demand make-up hours if the employee was not allowed to leave work.
