Statute overview

About this statute

This Order sets rules for the organisation, operation, licensing, and remuneration of insolvency practitioners. This article defines “Registrar General” as the competent authority under the companies law. An insolvency practitioner must meet nationality, qualification, registration, experience, and criminal-record conditions; a foreigner may be authorized if reciprocity or regional/international agreements apply. A person who wants to become an insolvency practitioner must submit a written application to the Registrar General by registered mail or hand delivery with acknowledgement of receipt. A foreigner may be allowed to serve as an insolvency practitioner in Rwanda if reciprocity and the relevant ratified agreements are satisfied. An applicant must attach the listed documents to the application letter.
