Statute overview

About this statute

This article defines key terms used in the law and its implementing measures. Commercial activity may be carried out freely by any natural or legal person with merchant status, subject to any special laws and regulations in force. Prices for goods and services are generally formed by supply and demand, but price fixing and price control may be organized in the situations set by the law. Commercial sales operations must be separated from production operations, except where this law provides otherwise. Merchants are grouped into three categories, and a merchant may not belong to more than one category.
