Statute overview

About this statute

This article defines “lieux ou se font des transactions” as places, public or not, where weighing or measuring is done for transactions, perceptions, expertises, or arbitrations. Certain unverified weighing instruments, measures, and weights are allowed only under the conditions in Articles 4 and 5; otherwise, unmarked instruments are prohibited in places where transactions are carried out, subject to a prior written exception by the Director or delegate. This article sets marking rules for certain weighing and measuring devices and limits the weight of toy and analysis weights.
