About this statute

A general census of the non-indigenous population of Belgian Congo is to take place on 3 January 1955. This article says the non-indigenous population census is meant to count people present in the Colony and collect specified personal and residence data. Le chef de ménage doit remplir un bulletin de recensement et y fournir les renseignements le concernant ainsi que ceux concernant les membres du ménage. Territorial chiefs must distribute the bulletins, and household heads who had not received a census bulletin by 3 January 1955 must notify the territorial chief as soon as possible. Information must be written legibly and refer to the situation at midnight on 3 January 1955. Completed bulletins must be kept available to the chiefs of Territory from 5 January 1955, unless they require the bulletins to be sent to them.
