Statute overview

About this statute

This article defines several terms used for the law and its implementing measures, including indigenous Africans, non-indigenous persons, distilled drinks, fermented drinks, and indigenous preparation drinks. The Governor General or a delegate may regulate or prohibit certain operations, control indigenous beverages, and set licensing prices and limits. The import, manufacture, installation, possession, transfer, sale, and purchase of distillation apparatus are prohibited unless prior authorization is obtained from the Minister of Colonies or the Governor General.
