About this statute

This Act sets rules for registering societies, controlling their governance, and penalising unlawful societies and non-compliance. The Minister can amend the Schedule, make regulations, and exempt a registered society from all or part of the Act. Breaching certain regulations can be made an offence punishable by fines. Registered societies also have rules on service, dissolution, court procedure, and transitional registration.
