Section 2 repeals the laws listed in Schedule 2 to the extent stated there. This section says the Act does not disturb past actions, rights, liabilities, penalties, or certain appointments linked to laws repealed or made applicable by the Act. This section gives the Act its short title: the Safety Matters Rationalisation Act, 1996. This section repeals sections 2, 4, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 50.

The laws specified in Schedule 2 are hereby repealed to the extent indicated in the

2. The laws specified in Schedule 2 are hereby repealed to the extent indicated in the third column thereof. This Act shall be called the Safety Matters Rationalisation Act, 1996.
