About this statute

This section establishes the National Agricultural Marketing Council and sets out how its members and meetings are arranged. The Minister may, by Gazette notice, delegate implementation, administration, and enforcement of statutory measures to specified bodies for agricultural products or classes of products. The Minister may require specified agricultural producers and related persons to register by notice in the Gazette. The Minister may, in extraordinary circumstances, prohibit or condition the import or export of agricultural products by Gazette notice. This section gives the Act its short title and says it starts on a date fixed by the President by proclamation in the Gazette.
