Statute overview

About this statute

This section amends several definitions in the principal Act. The heading to Chapter I of the principal Act is replaced with “Interim Council for Social Work”. This section creates the South African Interim Council for Social Work, requires the registrar to convene its first meeting, and says its head office must be in Pretoria. The council must make recommendations and give advice to the Minister, consult and promote research among social work groups, and investigate additional funding sources. This provision amends section 4 of the principal Act by deleting subsection (2).
