Statute overview

About this statute

Words already defined in the cited finance laws must keep the same meaning in this Act, unless the context shows otherwise. Words or expressions defined in the named Budget Act or Public Finance Management Act keep that meaning in this Act unless the context shows otherwise. Money listed in Schedule 2 must be spent only for the purpose stated in that Schedule. The Minister may control and redirect certain appropriated funds, and the National Treasury must report some stoppages and approvals in its next quarterly report. This section limits earmarked funds to the stated purposes, unless Parliament changes them, and gives the Minister powers to enforce, suspend, or reallocate certain funds in writing.
