About this statute

The council may create additional committees, must appoint a council member as each committee’s chairperson, and a committee’s decision to start certain inquiries takes effect unless an appeal is lodged in the prescribed manner. The council may establish other committees it considers necessary, and it must appoint a council member as each committee’s chairperson. The council must establish an ad hoc appeal committee to hear certain appeals, and the committee must have a legally qualified chairperson and up to two registered persons. First-time registrants to practise a veterinary or para-veterinary profession must do one year of compulsory community service before they may practise; the Minister may set rules, places, interruptions, and exemptions. The board must establish an ad hoc appeals committee to hear certain appeals, and the committee may confirm, change, set aside, remit, or otherwise order outcomes, including costs.
