This amendment says section 8 does not apply to specified traditional leadership office-bearers, subject to section 5(3).

27. Section 8 of the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers Act, 1998 (Act No. 20 of 25 1998), is hereby amended by the substitution for subsection 6 of the following subsection: leader, a non-traditional "(6) The provisions of this section shall, subject to section 5(3), not apply to a leader member of a traditional council, traditional non-traditional leader members of traditional sub-councils, non-traditional leader 30 members of principal traditional councils; a member of a kingship or queenship council, non-traditional members of kingship or queenship councils, a member of a local House of Traditional Leaders, a member of a provincial house of Traditional Leaders and a member of the National House of Traditional Leaders.". Section 9 of the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers Act, 1998 (Act No. 20 of 1998), is hereby amended by the substitution for subsection 6 of the following subsection: "(6) The provisions of this section shall, subject to section 5(3), not apply to a leader member of a traditional council, 40 leader, a non-traditional traditional non-traditional leader members of traditional sub-councils, non-traditional leader members of principal traditional councils; a member of a kingship or queenship council, non-traditional members of kingship or queenship councils, a member of a local House of Traditional Leaders, a member of a provincial house of Traditional Leaders and a member of the National House of Traditional Leaders.". 45 Short title
