Statute overview

About this statute

This section amends the Transnet Pension Fund Act by inserting and revising several definitions. The section replaces section 2 and says the former Transnet Pension Fund continues as the Transport Pension Fund. This provision substitutes section 3 of the principal Act with a section titled “Obligations payable from revenue”. Certain pension-related obligations must continue to be paid, but the cost shifts from Transnet’s revenue to one or more employers’ revenue in agreed or minister-determined proportions. Section 4 is replaced with a new section about determining the obligations and rights of certain members during periods of membership.
