About this statute
This provision amends section 1 of the Sectional Titles Act by updating several definitions. Joint owners and certain joint holders may apply to the registrar for a certificate, and registration of certain transfers, cessions, hypothecations, or leases is barred unless the certificate is produced. A body corporate may buy or acquire land to extend the common property if all members authorize it in writing. Section 36 of the principal Act is amended in relation to subsection (2). This section amends the principal Act by replacing one cited Act name with another wherever that old wording appears.
