Statute overview

About this statute

The Minister may designate posts and service points, and may delegate section powers to specified officials. People appointed to designated posts must carry out the delegated powers and duties under the Master’s direction. The Master has no jurisdiction over property or estates governed by customary law, and documents for those matters may not be lodged with the Master except a will or a document purporting to be a will. This section amends Section 23 of the Black Administration Act, 1927 by deleting paragraph (a) of subsection (7), sets the Act to start on 5 December 2002 or earlier by presidential proclamation, and applies it to estates where the person died on or after commencement.
