About this statute

This excerpt notifies that the President assented to and published Act No. 122 of 1998. This section adds a new rule for paying former employees of an insolvent employer from the free residue, and gives the Minister of Justice power to set or change maximum payment amounts. This section amends section 99 by deleting a paragraph and repeals section 100. Section 100 of the Insolvency Act, 1936 is repealed. A creditor who has not proved a claim before the trustee submits a distribution plan cannot share in the estate’s distribution, subject to sections 95(2) and 98A(3).
