THE PETROLEUM (CONDENSATE OPERATIONS) (AMENDMENT) RULES,2022

1. These Rules may be cited as the Petroleum (Condensate Operations) (Amendment) Rules, 2022 and shall be read as one with the Petroleum (Condensate Operations) Rules, 2021 hereinafter referred to as the principal Rules. Amendment of rule 6

2. The principal Rules are amended by deleting “6.-(1) Validity and duration of construction approval rule 6 and substituting for it the following: construction The approval issued by the Authority under rule 5 shall cease to have effect in the event the holder of the said approval fails to commence construction within twenty-four months from the date of issue. (2) The Authority may, on its own motion or upon application by a holder of a construction approval, 1 Petroleum (Condensate Operations) (Amendment) GN. NO.208 (Contd.) extend the validity of the construction approval for such period as it may think fit. (3) An application for extension of construction approval shall be made before the expiration of twenty four months prescribed under sub rule (1). (3) The Authority shall, in making decision for extending the time of constriction approval, consider the economic viability of the project and the Applicant’s commitment toward commencing the construction”.
