The Laws Revision (Conduct of General Revision of Laws) Notice, 2023

1. This Notice may be cited as the Laws Revision (Conduct of General Revision of Laws) Notice, 2023. Requirement to conduct general revision of laws Components of general revision exercise

2. The Chief Parliamentary Draftsman is hereby required to prepare, publish and maintain a Revised Edition 2023 which shall incorporate all Principal legislation to which the Laws Revision Act applies. (2) Subject to provisions of the Laws Revision Act, the Revised Edition 2023 shall incorporate principal legislation up to and including 30th June, 2023.

3.-(1) Save as otherwise provided in sections 7 and 8 of the Laws Revision Act, and without prejudice to the powers vested in the Chief Parliamentary Draftsman under the Act, the general revision exercise shall, without prejudice to paragraph 2(2), be undertaken in the manner and for such period as the Chief Parliamentary Draftsman may determine. (2) In the course of preparing a Revised Edition 2023, the Chief Parliamentary Draftsman shall- (a) assign each Act a Chapter number in convenient order; (b) prepare an index of all principal legislation in an alphabetical and chronological order; and (c) identify laws which are repealed, spent, undesirable and unnecessary to be included in the revised edition.
