THE ENERGY AND WATER UTILITIES REGULATORY AUTHORITY (THE INQUIRY ON MULTI-YEAR TARIFF APPLICATION BY THE MBEYA WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION AUTHORITY (MBEYA WSSA) NOTICE, 2022

1. This Notice may be cited as the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (The Inquiry on Multi-year Tariff Application by the Mbeya Water Supply and Sanitation Authority) (Mbeya WSSA) Notice, 2022.

2. In this Notice, unless the context requires otherwise- “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; “Director General” means the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority; “application for tariff adjustment” means an application for adjustment of water supply tariffs as presented to the Schedule of this Notice; “multi-year tariff” means rates and charges that are expected to be effective for a duration of three years which may change annually based on the approved Mbeya WSSA Business Plan; and “inquiry” means receiving the entire process of comments from stakeholders with regard to the proposed tariff adjustment as summarised in the schedules. 1 Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (The Inquiry on Multi-Year Tariff Application by the Mbeya Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (Mbeya Wssa) GN. 3. The purpose of the inquiry is to enable the Authority to collect views on the proposed multi-year tariffs and fees. Proposed tariffs

4. Mbeya WSSA proposal for tariffs, fees and charges are prescribed in the schedules of this Notice. How to participate in inquiry

5. Anyone who wishes to participate in the inquiry may do so by submitting his written views pertinent to the inquiry to the Director General to the address specified in Paragraph 8 of this Notice within fourteen days after the publication of this Notice. 6. A person who intends to object to the approval of the tariff application shall lodge his objection in writing within five working days from the date of the public notice.

7. Copies of the applications are, for the purpose of public knowledge and use, available at the Authority’s offices and the same can be obtained during working hours from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm .
