THE TANZANIA WILDLIFE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULES) ORDER, 2023

1. This Order may be cited as the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (Amendment of Schedules) Order, 2023 and shall be read as one with the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute Act hereinafter referred to as the “principal Act” Deletion and substitution of First Schedule

2. The principal Act is amended by deleting the First Schedule and substituting for it the following: 1 Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (Amendment of Schedules) GN. NO. 260 (Contd.) “________ FIRST SCHEDULE _______ (Made under section 7(1)) WILDLIFE RESEARCH CENTRES

5. Southern Highlands Wildlife Research Centre.”.

3. The Second Schedule to the principal Act is amended- (a) in paragraph 1, by- (i) deleting items (b) and (c) of subparagraph (1) and Amendment of Second Schedule substituting for them the following: “(b) other members appointed by the Minister as follows: (i) (ii) from from Area Director of Wildlife; Conservation Commissioner Tanzania National Parks; Conservation Commissioner Ngorongoro Conservation Authority; from Conservation Commissioner Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority; Law Officer from the Office of the Attorney General; representative Commission Technology; one member having knowledge of wildlife; and one member from higher learning institutions having knowledge in matters related to wildlife.”; the Tanzania and Science from private sector from for (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (vii) (viii) (ii) deleting subparagraph (2) and substituting for it the following: the Secretary to the Board.”; (b) in paragraph 2, by deleting the words “one year” and “(2) The Director-General shall be substituting for them “three years”; (c) deleting paragraph 3; and (d) renaming paragraphs 4 to 14 as paragraphs 3 to 13 respectively.
