2. Unless the context otherwise requires: Cap. 414 Cap 392 Granting of a Construction Approval “Applicant” means Munio Petrol Station Kinyerezi of P.O BOX 160, Himo. “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; and “Construction Approval” means an approval issued by the Authority pursuant to Section 128(1) the Petroleum Act. is hereby granted

3. The Applicant a Construction Approval to construct a petroleum products retail outlet at Kinyerezi Kange Area, Ilala District, Dar es Salaam Region subject to the following conditions: 1 Petroleum (Munio Petrol Station Kinyerezi) (Construction Approval) GN. NO. 207 (Contd.) (a) the retail station shall be constructed in accordance with the Tanzania Bureau of Standards TZS and TZS 1079:2009; 1115:2009 (b) due care shall be exercised during excavation and installation of underground tanks; (c) the layout of the retail station shall meet the minimum safety distances in accordance with Standards TZS of Tanzania Bureau 1079:2009; tanks (d) the underground associated from pipelines shall be well protected corrosion and the back filling shall be done properly using non-corrosive materials; and Cap 340 (e) the underground storage tanks and pumps together with the connecting pipes and fittings shall be constructed so as to prevent any leakage of fuel; (f) underground storage tanks and dispensing pumps shall be calibrated by the Weights and the Measures Agency established under Weights and Measures Act; (g) the forecourt of the retail station shall be paved with impervious materials at the pump island with a drainage provision connected to oil and water separator; (h) an emergency shut off switch shall be installed in a conspicuous and accessible area; (i) ensuring that there shall be adequate and clean toilet facilities at all times; 2 Petroleum (Munio Petrol Station Kinyerezi) (Construction Approval) GN. (j) clear and visible safety warning signs shall be installed at the entrance, exit and at the dispensing pumps, including but not limited to "switch off engine", "switch off mobile phone" and "no smoking"; (k) each storage tank shall be fitted with vent pipes with a minimum height of 3.6 metres; (l) each pump shall be protected with crash barriers with the height of one meter above the ground; (m) the offloading manhole shall be constructed in accordance with good petroleum industry practices and the offloading receiving pipes should be provided with couplings to prevent spillages during offloading; (n) the retail station shall be covered with a canopy covering at least the pump island and accordance with good in constructed petroleum industry practices; and (o) a price board shall be erected in a conspicuous place.
