This section gives the Order’s short citation and says it is deemed to have come into operation on 29 February 2019.

1. This Order may be cited as the Excise (Management and Tariff) (Remission) (Widening of New Bagamoyo Road Phase 2) (M/s Nippo Corporation in Joint Venture with Dai Nippon Construction of Japan) Order, 2020 and shall be deemed to have come in operation on the 29th day of February, 2019.

Excise duty on the listed fuel is remitted for Nippo Corporation’s joint venture project, subject to paragraph 3 and any extra conditions set by the Commissioner General.

2. Subject to the conditions specified in paragraph 3, and any other conditions as may be specified by the Commissioner General of Tanzania Revenue Authority, the whole of excise duty payable on fuel in the Schedule, imported or purchased locally prior to clearance through customs by or on behalf of M/s Nippo Corporation in Joint Venture with Dai Nippon Construction of Japan to be used solely by M/s Nippo Corporation in Joint Venture with Dai Nippon Construction of Japan in Widening of New Bagamoyo Road Phase 2 project is hereby remitted. 1 Excise (Management and Tariff) (Remission) (Widening of New Bagamoyo Road Phase 2) (M/S Nippo Corporation in Joint Venture with Dai Nippon Construction of Japan) GN. The remission granted under this Order shall cease

The remission ends if the fuel is used for other purposes or transferred, sold, or otherwise disposed of to someone who is not entitled to the same privileges.

3. The remission granted under this Order shall cease to have effect and the excise duty shall become due and be payable as if this Order had not been made where the said fuel is used for other purposes or are transferred, sold or disposed of in any way to another person not entitled to enjoy similar privileges as are conferred under this Order.
