The applicant is hereby granted a construction approval to construct a petroleum products retail outlet at Plot No. 163 Block "AA" at Mabatini Area, in Nyamagana District, Mwanza Region subject to the following conditions: (a) the retail station shall be constructed in accordance with the Tanzania Bureau of 1 Etroleum (Olympic Petroleum (T) Ltd – Mabatini) (Construction Approval) GN NO. 334 (Conted) Standards TZS 1079:2009; 1115:2009 and TZS (b) due care shall be exercised during excavation and installation of underground tanks; (c) the layout of the retail station shall meet the minimum safety distances in accordance with Tanzania Bureau Standards TZS of 1079:2009; tanks (d) the underground associated from pipelines shall be well protected corrosion and the back filling shall be done properly using non-corrosive materials; and Cap 340 (e) the underground storage tanks and pumps together with the connecting pipes and fittings shall be constructed so as to prevent any leakage of fuel; (f) underground storage tanks and dispensing pumps shall be calibrated by the Weights and Measures Agency established under the Weights and Measures Act; (g) the forecourt of the retail station shall be paved with impervious materials at the pump island with a drainage provision connected to oil and water separator; (h) an emergency shut off switch shall be installed in a conspicuous and accessible area; (i) ensuring tha t there shall be adequate and clean toilet facilities at all times; (j) clear and visible safety warning signs shall be installed at the entrance, exit and at the dispensing pumps, including but not limited to "switch off engine", "switch off mobile phone" and "no smoking"; (k) each storage tank shall be fitted with vent pipes with a minimum height of 3.6 metres; (l) each pump shall be protected with crash barriers with the height of one meter above the ground; (m) the offloading manhole shall be constructed in accordance with good petroleum industry 2 Etroleum (Olympic Petroleum (T) Ltd – Mabatini) (Construction Approval) GN NO. 334 (Conted) practices and the offloading receiving pipes shall be provided with couplings to prevent spillages during offloading; (n) the retail station shall be covered with a canopy covering at least the pump island and good in constructed petroleum industry practices; and accordance with (o) a price board shall be erected in a conspicuous place.
