This section gives the Order its short title and says it is treated as having started on 20 March 2020.

1. This Order may be cited as the Excise (Management and Tariff) (Remission) (40 Units Toyota Land Cruiser Vehicles) (M/S United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR)) Order, 2020 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 20th day of March, 2020.

Excise duty on the specified motor vehicles is remitted, if the stated conditions are met.

2. Subject to the conditions prescribed in paragraph 3, and any other conditions as may be prescribed by the Commissioner General of Tanzania Revenue Authority, the whole of excise duty payable to the Motor Vehicles specified in the Schedule to this Order, imported or purchased locally prior to clearance through customs by or on behalf of M/S United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to be used exclusively by M/S United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Partners who have signed the Project Partnership Agreement between United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Government of United Republic of Tanzania dated 10th July, 1991 is hereby remitted.

The remission ends if the vehicles are used for other purposes or are transferred, sold, or otherwise disposed of to someone without similar privileges.

3. The remission granted under this Order shall cease to have effect and the excise duty shall become due and be payable as if this Order had not been made if the said vehicles are used for other purposes or are transferred, sold or disposed of in any way to another person not entitled to enjoy similar privileges as are conferred under this Order.
