THE PETROLEUM (ROSEMARY JAMES KASUKA T/A MAOPO GENERAL SUPPLIES)(CONSTRUCTION APPROVAL) NOTICE, 2020

1. This Notice may be cited as the Petroleum (Rosemary James Kasuka T/A Maopo General Supplies) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2020.

2. In this Notice, unless the context otherwise requires- “applicant” means Rosemary James Kasuka T/A Maopo General Supplies of P.O. Box 11865 Dar es Salaam; “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; and “construction approval” means an approval issued by the Authority pursuant to section 128(1) of the Petroleum Act.

3. The applicant is hereby granted a construction approval to construct a petroleum products retail outlet at Plot No. 27 Block ‘G’, Mvuti area, Ilala Municipality in Dar es Salaam Region subject to the following conditions: (a) the retail station shall be constructed in accordance with the Tanzania Bureau of 1 Petroleum (Rosemary James Kasuka T/A Maopo General Supplies) (Construction Approval) GN. NO. 369 (Contd.) Standards TZS 1115:2009 and TZS 1079:2009; (c) (b) due care shall be exercised during excavation and installation of underground tanks; the layout of the retail station shall meet the minimum in safety accordance with Tanzania Bureau of Standards TZS 1079:2009; the underground tanks and associated pipelines shall be well protected from corrosion and the back filling shall be done properly using non-corrosive materials; distances (d) Cap. 340 (e) the underground storage tanks and pumps together with the connecting pipes and fittings shall be constructed so as to prevent any leakage of fuel; (g) (f) underground storage tanks and dispensing pumps shall be calibrated by the Weights and Measures Agency established under the Weights and Measures Act; the forecourt of the retail station shall be paved with impervious materials at the pump island with a drainage provision connected to oil and water separator; (h) an emergency shut off switch shall be installed in a conspicuous and accessible area; (i) ensuring that there shall be adequate and clean toilet facilities at all times; (j) clear and visible safety warning signs shall be installed at the entrance, exit and at the dispensing pumps, including "switch off engine", "switch off mobile phone" and "no smoking"; (k) each storage tank shall be fitted with vent pipes with a minimum height of 3.6 2 Petroleum (Rosemary James Kasuka T/A Maopo General Supplies) (Construction Approval) GN.
