THE PETROLEUM (HASSAN ISSA WARSAME T/A WARSAME FUEL STATION) (CONSTRUCTION APPROVAL) NOTICE, 2020

1. This Notice may be cited as the Petroleum (Hassan Issa Warsame T/A Warsame Fuel Station) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2020. Interpretation

2. In this Notice, unless the context otherwise requires- Cap. 414 Cap. 392 Granting of construction approval “applicant” means Hassan IssaWarsame T/A Warsame Fuel Station of P. O. Box 315, Geita; “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; and “construction approval” means an approval issued by the Authority pursuant to section 128(1) of the Petroleum Act.

3. The applicant is hereby granted a construction approval to construct a petroleum products retail outlet at Plot No. 259 Msufini Area, Geita District in Geita Regionsubject to the following conditions: (a) the retail station shall be constructed in accordance with the Tanzania Bureau of 1 Petroleum (Hassan Issa Warsame T/A Warsame Fuel Station) (Construction Approval) GN. NO. 372 (Contd.) Cap. 340 Standards TZS 1115:2009 and TZS 1079:2009; (b) due care shall be exercised during excavation and installation of underground tanks; (c) the layout of the retail station shall meet the minimum in safety accordance with Tanzania Bureau of Standards TZS 1079:2009; distances (d) the underground tanks and associated pipelines shall be well protected from corrosion and the back filling shall be done properly using non-corrosive materials; (e) the underground storage tanks and pumps together with the connecting pipes and fittings shall be constructed so as to prevent any leakage of fuel; (f) underground storage tanks and dispensing pumps shall be calibrated by the Weights and Measures Agency established under the Weights and Measures Act; (g) the forecourt of the retail station shall be paved with impervious materials at the pump island with a drainage provision connected to oil and water separator; (h) an emergency shut off switch shall be installed in a conspicuous and accessible area; (i) ensuring that there shall be adequate and clean toilet facilities at all times; (j) clear and visible safety warning signs shall be installed at the entrance, exit and at the dispensing pumps, including "switch off engine", "switch off mobile phone" and "no smoking"; (k) each storage tank shall be fitted with vent pipes with a minimum height of 3.6 metres; (l) each pump shall be protected with crash 2 Petroleum (Hassan Issa Warsame T/A Warsame Fuel Station) (Construction Approval) GN.
