1. This Notice may be cited as the Petroleum Limited) Station Company Service (Nassor (Construction Approval) Notice, 2020.

In this Notice, unless the context otherwise requires- “applicant” means Nassor Service Station Company Limited of P.O BOX 25195, Dar es Salaam; “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; and “construction approval” means an approval issued by the Authority pursuant the Petroleum Act. to section 128(1) of

The applicant is hereby granted a construction approval to construct a petroleum products retail outlet at Plot No. 424, Block “X”, at Songambele area, Itigi Urban Area in Singida Region subject to the following conditions: (a) the retail station shall be constructed in accordance with the Tanzania Bureau of Standards TZS 1115:2009 and TZS 1079:2009; (b) due care shall be exercised during excavation and installation of underground tanks; (c) the layout of the retail station shall meet the 1 Petroleum (Nassor Service Station Company Limited)(Construction Approval) GN. NO. 450 (Contd.) minimum safety distances in accordance with Tanzania Bureau of Standards TZS 1079:2009; (d) the underground tanks and associated pipelines shall be well protected from corrosion and the back filling shall be done properly using non- corrosive materials; (e) the underground storage tanks and pumps together with the connecting pipes and fittings shall be constructed so as to prevent any leakage of fuel; Cap 340 (f) underground storage tanks and dispensing pumps shall be calibrated by the Weights and the Measures Agency Weights and Measures Act; established under (g) the forecourt of the retail station shall be paved with impervious materials at the pump island with a drainage provision connected to oil and water separator; (h) an emergency shut off switch shall be installed in a conspicuous and accessible area; (i) ensuring that there are adequate and clean toilet facilities at all times; (j) clear and visible safety warning signs shall be the installed at the entrance, exit and at dispensing pumps, "switch off engine", "switch off mobile phone" and "no smoking"; including (k) each storage tank shall be fitted with vent pipes with a minimum height of 3.6 metres; (l) each pump shall be protected with crash barriers with the height of one meter above the ground; (m) the offloading manhole shall be constructed in accordance with good petroleum industry practices and the offloading receiving pipes shall be provided with couplings to prevent spillages during offloading; (n) the retail station shall be covered with a canopy covering at island and constructed in accordance with good petroleum industry practices; and the pump least 2 Petroleum (Nassor Service Station Company Limited)(Construction Approval) GN.
