The Petroleum (Gudal (T) Co. Limited-Chalinze) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2020

1. This Notice may be cited as the Petroleum (Gudal (T) Co. Limited-Chalinze) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2020. Interpretation

2. In this Notice, unless the context otherwise requires- “applicant” means Gudal (T) Co. Limited of P.O. Box 216 Cap. 414 Cap. 392 Granting of construction approval Nzega; “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; and “construction approval” means an approval issued by the Authority pursuant to section 128(1) of the Petroleum Act.

3. The applicant is hereby granted a construction approval to construct a petroleum products retail outlet at Plot No. 328 Block ‘B’, Msamvu Mwembesongo Area in Morogoro Municipalitysubject to the following conditions: the retail station shall be constructed accordance with Standards TZS 1115:2009 and TZS 1079:2009; in the Tanzania Bureau of (a) (b) due care shall be exercised during excavation and installation of underground tanks; the layout of the retail station shall meet the minimum safety distances in accordance with Tanzania Bureau of Standards TZS 1079:2009; the underground tanks and associated pipelines shall be well protected from corrosion and the back filling shall be done properly using non- corrosive materials; the underground storage tanks and pumps (c) (d) (e) 1 Petroleum (Gudal (T) Co. Limited-Chalinze) (Construction Approval) GN NO. 905 (Contd.) Cap. 340 together with the connecting pipes and fittings shall be constructed so as to prevent any leakage of fuel; (f) underground storage tanks and dispensing pumps shall be calibrated by the Weights and Measures Agency established under the Weights and Measures Act; (g) the forecourt of the retail station shall be paved with impervious materials at the pump island with a drainage provision connected to oil and water separator; (h) an emergency shut off switch shall be installed (i) (j) in a conspicuous and accessible area; ensuring that there shall be adequate and clean toilet facilities at all times; clear and visible safety warning signs shall be installed at the entrance, exit and at the "switch off dispensing pumps, engine", "switch off mobile phone" and "no smoking"; including (k) each storage tank shall be fitted with vent pipes (l) with a minimum height of 3.6 metres; each pump shall be protected with crash barriers with the height of one meter above the ground; (m) the offloading manhole shall be constructed in industry accordance with good petroleum practices and the offloading receiving pipes shall be provided with couplings to prevent spillages during offloading; the retail station shall be covered with a canopy covering at island and constructed in accordance with good petroleum industry practices; and the pump least (n) (o) a price board shall be erected in a conspicuous place.
