About this statute
The engine must be fitted with an automatic or manually operated ignition system, a magnetic particle detection or equivalent system, and an emergency engine power control device. Certain single-engine turbine-powered aeroplanes operating at night or in IMC must be fitted with specified safety systems and equipment. The Authority must require an approved operator’s minimum equipment list to state the operating equipment needed for night and/or IMC operations, and for day/VMC operations. The flight manual must include limitations, procedures, approval status, and other information relevant to operations by single-engine turbine-powered aeroplanes at night and/or in IMC. An operator approved for night or IMC operations with single-engine turbine-powered aeroplanes must report significant failures, malfunctions, or defects to the Authority.
