11. Right to sue the employer for any civil liability. (section 30(1) and (2)) An employee or a dependant of the deceased is entitled, at his own cost and with the approval of the Director General, to get a copy of any document relating to the accident, injury or occupational diseases and claim for compensation involving the employee or dependant of the employee as the case may be. An employee has the right to sue for any breach of statutory duty or any grievances directly or indirectly caused by the Board of Trustees. An employee who is aggrieved by the decision of the Director General may, within thirty working days from the date of receiving the decision, appeal to the Minister. An employee aggrieved by the decision of the Minister, may make an application for revision to the Labour Court in accordance with the Labour Court Rules. An employee has a right to be given reasons of the decision reached by the Director General or authorized person. An employee or a dependant of the deceased has a right to sue the employer for any civil liability in respect of an occupational injury or disease resulting in the disablement or death of an employee if the injury or disease was caused by negligence, breach of statutory duty or any other wrongful act or omission of the employer, or any person for whose act or omission the employer is responsible, or of any other person.
