About this statute
This section says the Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment) Regulations, 2016 and must be read together with the Immigration Regulations 1997. The Regulations are amended so that “Principal Commissioner” is replaced with “Commissioner General” wherever it appears. Regulation 4 is changed so that the fees listed in the Second Schedule must be paid for the matters in its tables. This provision amends regulation 17 of the principal Regulations by deleting subregulation (1) and replacing it with new text beginning with “Student Pass”. An Immigration Officer may issue a Student Pass to an admitted student in an approved training establishment for study or training.

The Regulations are amended so that “Principal Commissioner” is replaced with “Commissioner General” wherever it appears.

(1) A Student Pass may be issued
An Immigration Officer may issue a Student Pass to an admitted student in an approved training establishment for study or training.
17.-(1) A Student Pass may be issued by an Immigration Officer to any person who has been admitted as a student in an approved training establishment in the United Republic for purposes of undertaking studies or 1 G.N. (1) A person of African descent
Some qualifying people may apply for a migrant pass, and they must not live in the United Republic without one.
