The Electricity (Licensing) Rules, 2016

1. These Rules may be cited as the Electricity (Licensing Fees) Rules, 2016. Electricity licensing fees

2. These Rules provide for electricity licencing fees payable in relation to- (a) electricity generation activities; (b) electricity transmission activities; (c) electricity distribution activities; (d) isolated grid-combined generation activities; (e) distribution and supply activities; (f) import and export of electricity activities; (g) application for electricity licences; (h) electricity own use activities; and (i) electrical contractors activities. The fees specified in the First Schedule shall apply in relation to- (a) electricity generation; (b) electricity transmission; (c) electricity distribution; (d) isolated grid-combined generation; (e) distribution and supply; (f) import and export of electricity; and (g) application for electricity licences. 42 G.N. 4. The fees specified in the Second Schedule shall apply to electricity own use.

5. The fees specified in the Third Schedule shall apply in the electrical contractors. Fees timeline

6. The fees prescribed in the First, Second and Third Schedule shall apply during the subsistence of the licence. Revocation of GN No. 11 of 2013
