THE PETROLEUM (TEMBO ENERGIES LIMITED) (COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS MOTHER AND FILLING STATION) (CONSTRUCTION APPROVAL) NOTICE, 2024

1. This Notice may be cited as the Petroleum (Tembo Energies Limited) (Compressed Natural Gas Mother and Filling Station) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2024. Commencement

2. This Notice shall take effect from the date of publication in the Government Gazette. Interpretation

3. Unless the context otherwise requires- “applicant” means Tembo Energies Limited of P. o. Box Cap. 414 Cap. 392 Granting of Construction Approval 21456 Dar es Salaam; “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority established under the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act; and “Construction Approval” means an approval issued by the Authority under section 128(1) of the Petroleum Act.

4. The applicant is hereby granted Construction Approval to construct a Compressed Natural Gas Mother and Filling Station at Mabibo area, Ubungo Municipality in Dar es Salaam Region subject to the following conditions: 1 Petroleum (Tembo Energies Limited) (Compressed Natural Gas Mother and Filling Station) (Construction Approval) Notice GN. No. 592 (Contd) (a) comply with the approved design, technical installation, specifications, construction, and welding, commissioning, and demarcated right of way or other applicable laws; processes, testing (b) ensure are that the station or other related following facilities comprehensive written specifications or standards issued by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards or other applicable laws; constructed that (c) ensure construction inspection requirements for gas refuelling stations or other related facilities are adequate to assure compliance with the material, construction, welding, assembly and testing requirements of the standards issued by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards; (d) ensure that- (i) (ii) there are minimal inconveniences to the residents around the station and that the public's safety is given prime consideration; in case blasting is involved, is done following the governing regulations, performed by competent and qualified personnel, performed to provide adequate protection to the general public, livestock, wildlife, buildings, telephone, power lines, underground structures and any other property in the proximity of the blasting; (a) ensure that- (i) (ii) in grading the site, every effort is made to minimize damage to the land, and to prevent abnormal drainage and erosive conditions; the land is to be restored to as nearly original condition as is practical; (b) observe- 2 Petroleum (Tembo Energies Limited) (Compressed Natural Gas Mother and Filling Station) (Construction Approval) Notice GN. No. 592 (Contd) (i) (ii) and safety environmental, health standards as required by the applicable laws; health and safety of all the personnel and equipment and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) all the time including head hat, safety glasses, safety boots, use of fire extinguisher is taken into account; and (c) ensure all existing utilities whether regulated by the Authority or not are protected from damage and formally communicate with operators of such utilities to request their presence on-site during project execution.
