The Petroleum (Energo Tanzania Limited) (Construction of Compressed Natural Gas Mother and Filling Station in Kinondoni Municipality) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2024

1. This Notice may be cited as the Petroleum (Energo Tanzania Limited) (Construction of Compressed Natural Gas Mother and Filling Station along Mwenge- Coca Cola Road Area in Kinondoni Municipality) (Construction Approval) Notice, 2024. Interpretation

2. In this Notice unless the context otherwise requires- “applicant” means Energo Tanzania Limited of P.O. Box Cap 392 Cap. 414 Grant of approval 653, Dar es Salaam; "approval" means a construction approval issued by the Authority pursuant to section 128(1) of the Petroleum Act; and “Authority” means the Energy and Water Utilities the Regulatory Authority established under Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Act.

3. The applicant is hereby granted approval to construct a compressed natural gas mother and filling station along Mwenge-Coca Cola Road in Kinondoni Municipality subject to the following conditions: (a) compliance with the approved design, technical processes specifications, (installation, construction, welding, testing and 1 petroleum (energo tanzania limited) (construction of compressed natural gas mother and filling station along mwenge – coca cola road in kinondoni municipality) (construction approval) GN. NO.1054 (Contd.) commissioning), and demarcated right of way or other applicable laws; (b) the station or other related facilities shall be constructed following comprehensive written specifications or standards issued by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards or any other applicable law; (c) the construction inspection requirements for refuelling stations or other related facilities shall be adequate to assure compliance with the material, construction, welding, assembly, and testing requirements of the standards issued by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards; (d) ensure minimal inconveniences the residents around the station and that the public's shall be given prime consideration; safety to (e) in case blasting is involved, it shall be done following the governing regulations and performed by competent and qualified personnel and performed to provide adequate protection to the general public, livestock, wildlife, buildings, telephone, power lines, underground structures and any other property in the proximity of the blasting; (f) in grading the site, every effort shall be made to minimize damage to the land, and to prevent abnormal drainage and erosive conditions and the land shall be restored, to the extent practicable, to its original condition.; (g) observance of environmental, health and safety standards as required by the applicable laws; (h) health and safety of all the personnel and equipment shall be taken into account and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times including head hat, safety glasses, safety boots, use of fire extinguisher; and 2 petroleum (energo tanzania limited) (construction of compressed natural gas mother and filling station along mwenge – coca cola road in kinondoni municipality) (construction approval) GN. (i) all existing utilities whether regulated by the Authority or not shall be protected from damage and formally communicate with operators of such utilities to request their presence on-site during project execution.
