(CAP. 343) ______ NOTICE ______ (Made under section 37(3)) ___________ THE NATIONAL ELECTIONS (DECLARATION OF VACANCY OF THE SEAT OF MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT (SPECIAL SEAT) NOTICE, 2023 Cap 343 Cap. 343 Cap. 2 Cap. 343 WHEREAS, Section 37(3) of the National Elections Act empowers the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania to declare a vacancy in the Seat of Parliament where a Member of Parliament resigns, dies or otherwise relinquishes his office for reason other than that specified under section 113 of the Act. AND WHEREAS, following the resignation of HON. BAHATI KENNETH NDINGO who was a Member of Parliament, Special Seats sponsored by Chama Cha Mapinduzi, Political Party (hereinafter referred to by its acronym CCM) on 17th August, 2023 in accordance with the provision of Article 149(1)(d) of The Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, 1977. NOW THEREFORE, I DR. TULIA ACKSON, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, by virtue of powers conferred upon me under section 37(3) of the National Elections Act, do hereby notify the general public as follows: Citation 1.
