1. This Notice may be cited as the Forest (Intention to Declare Uzigua Nature Forest Reserve) Notice, 2020. Intention to make declaration

2. The area of reserved land within the limits and boundaries defined in the Schedule to this Notice is hereby intended to be upgraded and declared as Uzigua Nature Forest Reserve. Purpose

3. The purposes for which Uzigua Nature Forest Reserve is proposed to be declared as such are- 1 Forest (Intention to Declare Uzigua Nature Forest Reserve) GN No. 188 (Contd) (a) to protect the threatened area of tropical lowland forest which is recognized for its high biodiversity value with unique flora and fauna, including endangered species of plants and animals, some of which are threatened with extinction; and (b) to attain the intended management purposes, conservation of the forest land and wise use of forest resources in the forest area. Period of time

4. This Notice shall be valid for ninety (90) days from the date of publication within which any person or group of persons or a representative thereof may, in writing:- (a) object to; (b) make representations; or (c) claim any rights based on and arising out of customary law in relation to land or forest produce or any rights based on any other law within the area the subject of the proposed declaration of a nature forest reserve.
