The Forest (Intention to Declare Pugu - Kazimzumbwi Nature Forest Reserve) Notice, 2020

1. This Notice may be cited as the Forest (Intention to Declare Pugu - Kazimzumbwi Nature Forest Reserve) Notice, 2020. 1 Forest (Intention to Declare Pugu - Kazimzumbwi Nature Forest Reserve) G.N NO 190 (Contd)

2. The area of reserved land within the limits and boundaries defined in the Schedule to this Notice is hereby intended to be declared as Pugu - Kazimzumbwi Nature Forest Reserve. Intention to make declaration

3. The purposes for which Pugu - Kazimzumbwi Nature Forest Purpose Reserve is intended to be declared as such are- (a) to protect the threatened area of tropical lowland forest which is recognized for its high biodiversity value, with unique flora and fauna, including endangered species of plants and animals, some of which are threatened with extinction; and (b) to attain the intended management purposes, conservation of the forest land and wise use of forest resources in the forest area.

4. This Notice shall be valid for ninety (90) days from the date of publication within which any person or group of person or a representative thereof may, in writing- Period of time (a) object to state; (b) make representations; or (c) claim any rights based on and arising out of customary law in relation to land or forest produce or any rights based on any other law within the area the subject of the proposed intended declaration of a nature forest reserve.
