The notice states why Iyondo Mswima Forest is proposed to be declared a forest reserve: to protect a threatened lowland tropical forest area and to support conservation and wise use of forest resources.
3. The purpose for which Iyondo Mswima Forest is proposed to be declared as Iyondo Mswima Forest Reserve are as follows: (a) to protect the threatened area of tropical lowland forest which is recognized for its high biodiversity value, with unique flora and fauna, including endangered species of plants and animals, some of which are threatened with extinction; and (b) to attain the intended management purposes, conservation of the forest land and wise use of forest resources in the forest area.
