About this statute

This section gives the Act’s short title: the Tsetse Fly (Control) Act. This section defines several terms used in the Act, including “domestic animals,” “fly area,” “Minister,” and “vehicle.” The Minister may, by order published in the Gazette, declare a defined area to be a tsetse fly area for this Act. The Minister may make regulations to control movement in a fly area and to support tsetse-fly inspection and removal measures. A person who breaks a regulation made under this Act commits an offence and may be fined up to 200 shillings or, if the fine is not paid, imprisoned for up to one month.
