About this statute
A member may resign by giving written notice to the Minister. The office becomes vacant if the appointment is revoked, the member resigns, or the member dies. The members must elect one of their own number as Vice-Chairman of the Board. A member’s term is set by the appointment instrument, or defaults to three years, and the member may be reappointed for up to two terms. If a Board member misses three consecutive meetings without reasonable excuse, the Board must inform the appointing authority, and that authority may end the appointment and replace the member. If a member leaves office before the end of the term, the appointing authority may appoint a replacement, who serves for the rest of the original term.
