Statute overview

About this statute

This section sets out how the Committee is formed, how its members are appointed, how long they serve, and when membership ends. If a Committee member leaves office early, the Minister may appoint someone else after consulting the Committee. The Committee must elect one of its members as Vice-Chairman. The Committee must meet as needed, have nine members for quorum, follow a chairing order, and keep, confirm, and sign minutes. The Committee may act even if there is a vacancy, and proceedings are not invalid just because a member’s appointment was defective or someone attended while only purporting to be a member.
