About this statute
This section defines “upon demand” as a demand made by signed written notice, served personally or by registered post to the person’s usual or last-known abode in Tanzania. “Further advances” means money advanced or paid by the grantee to the grantor after the instrument is executed, including certain later sums owing during the security period. This section says the grantor must pay the grantee the balance due on demand and the account is to be adjusted with half-yearly rests and interest calculations. The party liable to insure must keep the listed chattels insured against fire and provide the policy and premium receipts on request. The party responsible for branding, earmarking, and marking the stock must keep all covered stock properly marked while the instrument is in force.
