Statute overview
About this statute
This Schedule defines “Committee” as a Committee established by the Council under section 8. The Committees must approve matters going to the Council, and the Council must make Committee appointments so there is adequate representation and appointees have the needed experience or qualifications. A Committee member who holds the seat by virtue of an office stops being a member when they leave that office, and their successor in that office becomes the Committee member instead. If a committee member who holds office cannot do the job because of illness or absence from the United Republic, the person acting in that office becomes a temporary committee member.
